What is Divvs?

Divvs provides its users a single data point as a representation of their online credibility. We do this by examining your online personas (Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc.) and applying our proprietary fomula to derive a rating from 1-100 (100 being the highest).
We aim to do to identities what Google's PageRank algorithm did for search.

Why?

There is currently no good way to deduce whether the party you are dealing with online is a reputable source or not. There are piecemeal solutions such as EBay's Feedback Mechanism or simply managing your individual online profiles but there is no simple one stop location to discern whether the individual you are interacting with is trustworthy.... until now. Divvs aims to reduce the frustration in conducting online conversations, whether they be financial, personal or otherwise.
Some examples:
  1. You are selling an item on Ebay but have little or no Ebay Feedback and are having difficulty convincing users of your credibility. Simply insert our html gadget and instantly provide users with a comfort level that you are who you say you are.
  2. You are purchasing on item on Craigslist but have no way of demonstrating that you are a serious purchaser. You simply send an email containing a cryptographically signed Divvs Rating to show the user that you are who you say you are.
  3. Large email providers can use a Divvs' feed to examine email addresses and use the Divvs' Rating to determing the likelihood that an individual piece of mail is spam or not.

How Does it Work?

Divvs will take as much or as little personal information as you are willing to provide about your social graph. You can have multiple personas and we will never be the wiser. You simply provide us with as many of your online personalities as you feel comfortable. Currently this works by:
